Where to go clubbing in Las Vegas
There's nothing quite like a night out in Las Vegas. Between the flashing lights, glittering marquees, and $20,000 champagne, everything is over-the-top, lavish and absurd - and that's half the fun of it.
Vegas clubs are among the best in the world, attracting A-list entertainment and frequented by the famous, the wealthy, and the royal - and those just looking for a good time. Much like the rest of the city, it can be a bit overwhelming to decide where to go and what to see - especially if you've only got a few days.
I've danced the night away at the most popular clubs in town - many of them multiple times. From this, I've experienced for myself just what makes them some of the highest-regarded scenes on the globe. Read on to discover some of my favorites - and get ready for a night unlike any other.
XS Las Vegas
Location: Encore at Wynn Las Vegas
Resident Artists: Rufus du Sol, Diplo, Kygo, The Chainsmokers, Dillon Francis, Marshmello
Nights Open: Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun
The Lowdown: Upscale, over-the-top, and charismatic, XS is Las Vegas nightlife at its finest: a hip hideaway where beautiful people and dancing queens convene to while away the hours at the best spot in town.
The club comprises of two main spaces: an indoor dance floor facing the DJ, and a huge outdoor patio complete with string lights, private cabanas, gambling tables, and a giant pool. (If you come during the summer, be sure to check out the club's iconic Sunday Nightswim; it's the craziest pool party under the stars you'll ever experience).
All you have to do is enter XS to feel as if you've walked into the coolest party (which is probably why A-list celebrities are frequently spotted here.) With design like opulent sugar for the eyes, the entire club lives up to its name.
Zouk
Location: Resorts World
Resident Artists: Illenium, RL Grime, Kaskade, deadmau5, DJ Snake
Nights Open: Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun
The Lowdown: As one of the newest clubs to hit the Strip, you can expect nothing short of the best at Zouk: insane production, top-notch sound quality, and some of the top DJs in the world.
Its iconic “Mothership” centerpiece - a massive light fixture that took 6 weeks to construct above the dance floor and can freely move about the venue - is a feast for the senses, syncing colors and lights in tune with the music. Couple that with Zouk’s impressive laser game and open layout and you’ve got a truly immersive experience that’s well worth a visit.
Marquee Las Vegas
Location: The Cosmopolitan
Resident Artists: Cedric Gervais, Benny Benassi, Lil Jon, Deorro, Chris Lake
Nights Open: Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun
The Lowdown: As you might expect from the hotel it calls home, a night out at Marquee feels curious and playful, evidenced by the fact that you enter the club via elevator.
Marquee comprises of three sections: the main room where the headliner plays (complete with a sound system powerful enough to fill Madison Square Garden), a separate, hip-hop/throwback room called The Boombox (where they’ve started hosting after hours parties), and a smaller room called The Library. Branching off of The Boombox is an outdoor patio that leads towards Marquee Dayclub - a lovely little balcony with a cityscape vibe and cool views of the Strip.
The entirety of Marquee is modern, mischievous, and mesmerizing, making any night out here one you won't soon forget.
Hakkasan
Location: MGM Grand
Resident Artists: Loud Luxury, Tyga, Steve Aoki, Alesso
Nights Open: Thurs, Fri, Sat
The Lowdown: The definition of mega-club, Hakkasan is 5 stories of opulence and intrigue - not to mention, stairs...lots of them. From the grid-like lighting fixtures that pulsate on the ceiling of the main dance floor, to the multiple vantage points in which to take in the party, Hakkasan is a playground that never ceases to draw you in.
Despite being one of the largests club on the Strip, Hakkasan gets packed very quickly, which means lines to get in can stretch 1-2 hours if you don’t get there early enough.
Size and crowd issues aside, I’ve witnessed some of the most Vegas moments at Hakkasan - like random 15-minute open bar periods and dollar bills raining from the ceiling.
Omnia
Location: Caesars Palace
Resident Artists: Martin Garrix, Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Loud Luxury, NGHTMRE
Nights Open: Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun
The Lowdown: The same group that owns Hakkasan owns Omnia, so there are similar vibes here.
Crowd control is undoubtedly its biggest issue (seriously, it's a problem.) It’s best to arrive as early in the night as you can to avoid waiting in line for hours.
In addition to the main room, there’s an upper-level outdoor patio that overlooks the Strip, as well as a separate hip-hop room (similar to The Boombox at Marquee) called Heart of Omnia. The main room has a massive, transformer-like chandelier that rotates and moves in sync with the music, and the club itself is gorgeous. You’ll find top EDM acts like Martin Garrix, Tiesto, and Armin van Buuren headlining.
Encore Beach Club at Night
Location: Encore at Wynn Las Vegas
Resident Artists: Gryffin, Diplo, Disco Lines, Afrojack, ARMNHMR
Nights Open: Fri, Sat
The Lowdown: If there's one club you need to experience during the day in Las Vegas, it's Encore Beach Club. The sprawling, opulent space boasts multiple pools, private cabanas, and plenty of champagne showers to go around when the beat drops. Now take all of that and put it after nightfall, with sounds by top name talent - boom, you've got Encore Beach Club at Night. Aside from XS's summertime Nightswim parties, this is the best pool party under the stars in Sin City.
